Clayton Lachance
Clayton Lachance has been involved in the field of ophthalmology since 2003 while working under the guidance of Dr. Howard Gimbel and associates at the Gimbel Eye Centre. With a drive for quality and efficiency in patient care, he quickly advanced to a position of leadership, training and mentoring of staff and clinical students. Upon returning from school and overseas work, he joined another high volume practice focused in the fields of retina, glaucoma, oculoplastics and oncology. Responsibilities grew as he again quickly advanced to roles of team leadership and clinical development as well as staff training, focused on patient testing and diagnostic imaging.
Involvement in multiple specialties and aspects of an ophthalmology practice has provided the range of experience most beneficial to managing Cloudbreak Eye Care. Related education includes Certified Ophthalmic Assistant designation, Ocular Refractometry and Study Certification, as well as advanced training in photography, angiography, OCT, and ultrasound at the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Clayton remains focused on quality and efficiency in a clinical practice and achieves this in part by providing progressive training and education to all staff.
Clayton is also motivated toward involvement in community, church and overseas work; volunteering his time and resources to take part in many humanitarian projects focused on medical, education, construction and community projects. Among these he has assisted in medical clinics as well as organizing and leading eye glass clinics for remote or impoverished communities without access to healthcare. Local involvement includes community and church programs ranging from mentoring for children and youth to healthy preventive lifestyle programs.
