Position Summary
Assist the physician within the clinic setting and during patient examination. Perform room loading and basic patient prep and complete charting, letters, referrals, discussions, etc. as directed by physician or supervisor in a fast paced and high volume practice. Perform clerical functions and assist with basic training of non-certified technicians and students.

This is a full-time permanent position. Salary - commensurate with experience as well as relevant certification, with a standard company benefits package. Applicant may be eligible for an annual salary increase and/or annual bonus, based on performance.

Position Summary
Assist the physician within the clinic setting and during patient examination. Perform room loading and basic patient prep and complete charting, letters, referrals, discussions, etc. as directed by physician or supervisor in a fast paced and high volume practice. - Surgical Coordinator and Surgical Booking
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Discuss and review ophthalmic surgery options as offered by the surgeon;
- Efficiently and accurately consent patients for surgical procedures as directed by the physician(s);
- Communicate with patients regarding follow-up care, pre and post-operative care, testing, changes in appointment times etc;
- Return phone calls to patients and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner;
- Attentively coordinate and schedule the surgical slate for 3+ ophthalmology surgeons;
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Previous experience as a surgical coordinator is a strong asset;
- 1+ years of previous experience in an ophthalmic setting strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent patient service skills with an aptitude to understand the patients’ conditions;
- Strong computer and typing skills, highly skilled in Microsoft Office with previous EMR experience;
- Exceptional organization skills with high attention to detail and accuracy;
- Self-motivation to deliver high quality results and work within deadlines;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Present a cheerful, friendly and professional image to patients and fellow employees;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to demonstrate consistent initiative and a team attitude;
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
