This is a minimum 1 month Volunteer position during clinic hours (8:00 am -4:00 pm) in a medical practice. Interested candidates must include, in their resume or cover letter, a brief summary of why they would like to volunteer and what they hope to achieve during the term. Volunteers completing a placement may be eligible for employment opportunities dependent on clinical need and workplace performance.

Position Summary
Performs basic patient care and clinical tasks as directed by physician or supervisor in a fast paced and high volume practice.

- Volunteer Clinic Assistant
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Monitor and assist with patient flow;
- Load patient information and diagnostic imaging for review in exam lanes;
- Call and direct patients to appropriate examination rooms;
- Accurately perform basic patient care tasks;
- Efficiently and accurately documenting all pertinent information in patient records (EMR);
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Skills in Developed:
- Excellent patient service skills with an aptitude to understand the patients’ conditions;
- Strong computer skills;
- Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new programs and equipment;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Self-motivation to deliver high quality results;
- Present a cheerful, friendly and professional image to patients and fellow employees;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to demonstrate consistent initiative and a team attitude;
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision.
